Technology continues to become a bigger and more integral part of our lives, with everything from smartphones and tablets, through to wearables and smart devices making life easier. One area of technology in particular where there are a lot of interesting developments resulting in great new products is travel technology. With that in mind, we are going to look at some of the best applications of technology in modes of transport that are helping to make travel, whether its daily commutes to and from school and work or just leisure journeys, quicker and greener.
That has always been the main reason for the creation of electric-powered vehicles – to help protect the planet from harmful emissions. While a bike with wheels you need to pedal will do a lot more for your health, electric vehicles, like bikes, skateboards, scooters and even unicycles bring a little joy into your life.
Everything seems to be going electric these days. That is probably why all of the vehicles noted here are powered by electricity. Including electric scooters. If you want something that requires a minimum amount of fuss, can get you from a to be in a practical and less OTT fashion than a bit petrol/diesel-guzzling motorcycle, you should consider investing in an electric scooter. They have a very subtle and nostalgic look and feel.
We have placed scooters and bikes at the top of our list, not because they are the least important forms of travel technology. Rather, it is because compared to the next couple on our list, they are fairly conventional. Electric bikes have been gaining momentum rapidly over the last few years, with companies such as Aventon now creating quicker, more compact, and even cheaper models than ever before. These environmentally friendly, time-saving modes of transportation are only going to gain popularity in the coming years.
Electric Skateboards many not be exactly new, but they have been fine-tuned and tweaked over the last few years to become bona fide choices for transportation. Although skaters and people into extreme sports are more likely to favour them, if you are looking for something that will get you to your chosen destination in speed and with an effortless sense of cool, these are the perfect choice. Hover-boards may have proved to be something of a joke, but we actually think some of the electric skateboard models being released are very cool.
We did say that electric scooters and bikes were the most conventional on our list. If you have ever wanted to work in the circus but have been too scared, or just want something a bit quirkier than a normal two wheeled bike, like every other sad loser. Even if you are just looking to try out something new, there are plenty of great reasons to invest in an electric unicycle. It’s fair to say that you should only get one of these if you don’t mind standing out from the crowd. However, if you are interested in them, read more about electric unicycles here.
